Altis Consulting has been partnered with Variety – the Children’s Charity since 2012. In this time our offices across Australia and New Zealand have donated over $85,000. This has given practical equipment, programs and experiences to help children in need to overcome whatever obstacles they face and live life to the fullest.
Example equipment from our previous donations include:
- Manual wheelchairs (approx. cost $4-5,000 per chair) giving disabled children mobility, freedom and independence to simply be kids!
- Specialist vehicle modifications (approx. cost per modification $5,000) vital for everyday tasks like getting a disabled child to and from school as well as accessing the wider community.
- Gastronomy feeding tubes (approx. cost per tube $2,000) for a child with cystic fibrosis, to alleviate the pressure of eating enough food and ensure that the child receives the essential nutrients to keep them strong.
- Human hair suction wigs (approx. cost $3,500) for a child with alopecia.
- iPads (approx. cost $450 per iPad) giving special needs children – for example a child with cerebral palsy or autism – the opportunity to use specialist technology fitted with specialised software to meet their individual communication and learning needs and enhance their lives.
We have also volunteered and attended many fundraising events like Variety Cycle, Variety of Chefs, Fine China Luncheon, Grand Final Luncheon, The Great Australian Songbook, Santa Fun Run, Annual Ice Skating, Golf Days, Monster Book Fairs, and many many more.
As this year marks the 30th Bash Anniversary we wanted to get involved and help raise more money for disadvantaged and special needs children. So we are taking part in the 2014 Brisbane to Busby’s Bore Bash and raising funds to help children to live, laugh and learn. All donations will go towards Variety and helping children gain mobility, independence and self-esteem.
